Finbot ("we", "our", "us") operates a WhatsApp-first personal finance tracking service. We are based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use Finbot through WhatsApp or our web dashboard.

By using Finbot, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

We collect only the information necessary to provide our service:

Your information is used exclusively to operate and improve Finbot:

• Providing the core finance tracking service through WhatsApp and the web dashboard
• Generating personalized financial reports, insights, and spending analysis
• Sending scheduled reminders, budget alerts, and subscription notifications
• Authenticating your identity via WhatsApp OTP for dashboard access
• Improving the product based on usage patterns and feature adoption

All data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (D1 database, Workers, Pages) with enterprise-grade security. Data centers are located in regions compliant with international data protection standards.

Security measures include:

• Encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS) for all communications
• User-isolated data storage with strict multi-tenant separation
• Authentication tokens with expiration and secure storage
• Regular access audits and minimal data retention policies

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

Finbot communicates with you through the Meta Business API for WhatsApp. When you interact with Finbot on WhatsApp:

• Your messages and button interactions are processed to deliver the service
• Automated messages are sent within the free 24-hour Service Window
• Message data is processed in real time and not stored beyond what is needed for the service

Meta's privacy policy applies to the WhatsApp platform itself. Finbot has no control over how Meta handles data on their end. For details, refer to Meta's Privacy Policy.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us via WhatsApp.

Upon deletion request:

• All financial transactions, categories, budgets, and goals are permanently removed
• Generated reports and PDF files are deleted
• Your account and phone number are removed from our system
• Deletion is processed within 48 hours of the request

Family Data Sharing. If you create or join a family group, certain financial data (shared budgets, split expenses, and family goals) will be visible to other members of your family group. You can leave a family group at any time to stop sharing data. Family group admins can manage membership and shared data settings.

The Finbot web dashboard uses minimal browser storage for authentication (tokens stored in localStorage). We do not use advertising cookies, third-party analytics trackers, or browser fingerprinting.

Specifically, we use:

• Authentication tokens to maintain your login session on the dashboard
• User preferences to store theme and display settings

We do not share your financial data with these providers beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the service.

Finbot is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a minor is using the service, we will take steps to delete their data immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via WhatsApp before any material changes take effect.

Continued use of Finbot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
